Soccer Game Preview: East View vs. Elgin

The East View Patriots will square off against the Elgin Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (East View has three straight wins, Elgin has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Last Tuesday, it was close, but East View sidestepped Pflugerville Connally for a 2-1 victory. Damian Cantu had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Patriots.

East View was without their leading scorer, Eymard Diaz, in Tuesday's matchup. With Diaz sidelined, Giovanni Cantu got his first action of the season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Elgin challenged Pflugerville Connally on Friday. Elgin took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pflugerville Connally. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 579th, while the Cougars are ranked 247th).

Elgin's loss dropped their record down to 4-7-1. As for East View, their win bumped their record up to 6-2-3.
