Basketball Recap: Mount View Takes a Loss

Mount View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 63-35 loss at the hands of the River View Raiders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-27 last Wednesday.

River View's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaci Hatfield led the charge by going 9 of 16 en route to 21 points and five blocks. The matchup was Hatfield's third in a row with at least 15 points. Chasity Kennedy was another key player, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds.

Mount View's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for River View, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.

Looking ahead, Mount View won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Greater Beckley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for River View, they will challenge Tug Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Tug Valley comes in on 14 and River View on five.
