Volleyball Recap: Westminster Christian Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Westminster Christian Academy came into Tuesday's match having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Columbia Eagles on Tuesday. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Westminster Christian Academy took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-6.

Addie Mcwhorter paced Westminster Christian Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Mcwhorter got some help from Azlyn Leatherwood and her nine assists. Mcwhorter was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Westminster Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-19. As for Columbia, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-12.

Westminster Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Decatur at 5:30 p.m. on the 13th. Columbia has already played their next contest (against Decatur Heritage Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
