Soccer Recap: Minico Gets the Win

After low-scoring totals in their previous eight game, Minico brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. Their defense stepped up to hand the Declo Hornets a 5-0 shutout on Saturday. Considering Minico's offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

They hit Declo with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jordyn Koyle (2), Jyzel Navarrete, Alexis Pearson, and Angela Chaparro.

Minico's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Declo, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-7-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minico will venture away from home to face off against Mountain Home at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Minico will be up against Mountain Home's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.44 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Declo, they will square off against Buhl at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
