Volleyball Game Preview: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Anthony Wayne Generals

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Anthony Wayne recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will challenge the Generals at 6:00 p.m. Springfield is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

Last Thursday, Springfield earned a 3-1 victory over HEA Firebirds HomeSchool.

While Springfield might've won, it sure wasn't easy: HEA Firebirds HomeSchool scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-20, 18-25, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Anthony Wayne played in-conference for the first time on Tuesday and got just the result they were looking for. They came out on top against Start by a score of 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Generals.

Anthony Wayne walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-13, 25-21, 17-25, 25-16.

Anthony Wayne now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Springfield, their victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Springfield couldn't quite get it done against Anthony Wayne in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 as they fell 3-1. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
