Basketball Recap: Crete Picks Up Tenth Straight Win at Home

Crete won the last time they faced Lincoln Northwest and things went their way on Friday too. The Crete Cardinals put the hurt on the Lincoln Northwest Falcons with a sharp 76-51 victory. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 21 points or more this season.

Lincoln Northwest lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Myles Parker, who posted 14 points. Tayden Wynn was another key player, going 6-for-14 en route to 14 points and six boards.

Crete's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Lincoln Northwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 13 of their last 14 contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 3-16 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Crete will venture away from home to face off against Platteview at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Platteview will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Crete surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lincoln Northwest, they are taking a road trip to take on Waverly at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
