Baseball Recap: Wayne City Takes a Loss

Wayne City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cisne Runnin' Lions. If the Indians were looking for revenge after losing 4-3 to the Runnin' Lions when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Wayne City's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Cisne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne City will host Waltonville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Indians surely won't give up without a fight. As for Cisne, they will be playing at home against Edwards County at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
