Baseball Recap: West Carrollton's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

West Carrollton's game back in April was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Trotwood-Madison Rams with a sharp 10-2 win. Considering the Pirates have won three matchups by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

West Carrollton let Sam Fannin and Ben Martin run wild. Fannin went 3-for-4 with four stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Martin got on base in two of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases and three runs. West Carrollton is undefeated when Martin posts two or more runs, but 0-4 otherwise. Drew Strauss also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

West Carrollton moved to 3-4 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak. As for Trotwood-Madison, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-11.

West Carrollton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Trotwood-Madison, they will host Wilmington at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Rams are facing the Hurricane at the right time seeing as the Hurricane are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
