Softball Recap: Northern Nash Has No Trouble Against Franklinton

Northern Nash had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Franklinton on Tuesday. Northern Nash was the clear victor by a 12-2 margin over Franklinton. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kasey Burden made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Burden was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Emily Clay was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Emma Hunt, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Northern Nash has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. Franklinton's loss dropped their record down to 5-3.

Northern Nash has already played their next contest, a 10-0 defeat against Southern Nash on the 21st. As for Franklinton, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 17-13 victory against Green Hope on the 19th.
