Basketball Recap: Westampton Tech Starts off Right with Win over Pennsauken

Westampton Tech had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 63-56 victory over the Pennsauken Indians on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Westampton Tech's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Shakur Anderson, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Those 21 points gave Anderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Damien Moragne, who posted 11 points and six assists.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Westampton Tech Panthers challenge the Maple Shade Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Pennsauken, they and Northern Burlington will face off at 1:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
