Volleyball Game Preview: Walther Christian Academy Broncos vs. Holy Trinity Tigers

Walther Christian Academy is a perfect 10-0 against Holy Trinity since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, it was close, but Walther Christian Academy sidestepped Cristo Rey Jesuit for a 2-1 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Walther Christian Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 24-26, 25-23, 25-18.

Matthew Leonard was the offensive standout of the contest as he had 13 digs and two aces. Those 13 digs gave him a new career-high.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Holy Trinity took on Golder on Tuesday. The Tigers came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Holy Trinity took both sets by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-8.

Walther Christian Academy's record is now 3-8. As for Holy Trinity, their record now sits at 2-6.

Walther Christian Academy beat Holy Trinity 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
