Recap: Butler Bulldogs vs. West Forsyth Titans
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Butler Bulldogs had no problem doing just that on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 47-7 victory over West Forsyth. The victory was familiar territory for Butler who now have 11 in a row.
Butler was led to victory by Zachary Lawrence and Jayden Williams. Lawrence threw for 199 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while Williams rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry.
When it comes to explaining why West Forsyth lost, one person who can't be blamed is Caman Chaplin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 152 yards and a touchdown. Chaplin is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last nine games he's played.
Butler's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 44.9 points per game. As for West Forsyth, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.
Butler's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mount Tabor at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Mount Tabor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 30th, while Butler is ranked second). West Forsyth does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
