NCSSM: Durham was the 3-0 winner over Neuse Charter when they last played one another back in August, but their luck changed this time around. The Unicorns took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cougars on Thursday. The Unicorns' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Leira Smith paced NCSSM: Durham's offense, picking up 16 kills. Smith got some help from Anthien Nguyen and her 39 assists. Finally, Ella Farr kept NCSSM: Durham's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Neuse Charter found their leader in freshman Mikayla Leonard, who had 26 assists and ten digs.

NCSSM: Durham's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Neuse Charter, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. NCSSM: Durham will welcome Research Triangle at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raptors will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Unicorns surely won't give up without a fight. As for Neuse Charter, they will face off against Voyager Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
