Basketball Recap: Platteview Takes Down Ranked Ashland-Greenwood

On Tuesday, Platteview faced Ashland-Greenwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Platteview Trojans pulled ahead with a 58-57 photo finish over the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 65-33 victory the Bluejays walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

Platteview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxon Adams led the charge by going 6 of 9 on his way to 16 points and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Sully Vanosdall, who went 7 of 14 on his way to 15 points.

The win (which was Platteview's third in a row) raised their record to 10-3. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they moved to 10-2 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.
