Preview: Cumberland Gap vs. Meigs County
On Friday, Meigs County are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Cumberland Gap at 7:30 PM. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Meigs County was the big favorite in their most recent match, and for good reason. They were fully in charge last Friday, breezing past Hixson 55-14. The margin was wide but not a surprise since Meigs County are ranked far ahead of Hixson in the MaxPreps rankings.
Meanwhile, everything went Cumberland Gap's way against Hancock County last week as they made off with a 26-0 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Cumberland Gap had established a 26-0 advantage.
Their wins bumped Cumberland Gap to 2-0 and Meigs County to 2-0. With both Cumberland Gap and Meigs County swaggering in after impressive performances, it will be interesting to see which team steps up to teach the other some humility.
