Baseball Recap: Lamphere Find Success

Lamphere's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Utica Eisenhower Eagles 4-2. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered a 1-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jacob Lang spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Lamphere saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Braylon Cox, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Aidan Grzsikowski was another, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Lamphere is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Utica Eisenhower, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Lamphere will welcome Roseville at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Utica Eisenhower, they will take on Grosse Pointe North at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Norsemen at the right time seeing as the Norsemen are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
