Volleyball Game Preview: Mater Academy Charter Lions vs. TERRA Environmental

The Mater Academy Charter Lions will be taking part in a tournament against TERRA Environmental at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Mater Academy Charter barely beat iMater Charter the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Mater Academy Charter put the hurt on iMater Charter with a sharp 3-0 win on Wednesday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Mater Academy Charter walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-18, 25-20.

TERRA Environmental had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Luka Reyes did his part to make it four on Thursday. Everything went TERRA Environmental's way against Coral Reef as TERRA Environmental made off with a 3-0 victory for which the team can thank Reyes, who had 35 assists and six digs. That's the most assists he has posted since back in April of 2024.

TERRA Environmental was especially dominant in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-14, 25-20.

Mater Academy Charter now has a winning record of 3-2. As for TERRA Environmental, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday's contest: Mater Academy Charter hasn't let much over the net this season, having averaged 7.2 blocks per game.
