Soccer Game Preview: North Kingstown vs. Cranston West

The North Kingstown Skippers will head out to square off against the Cranston West Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. North Kingstown is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

North Kingstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Mt. Hope, who was ranked fourth at the time (North Kingstown was ranked first). The Skippers put the hurt on the Huskies with a sharp 5-2 win on Friday. Considering North Kingstown have won nine matchups by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Mt. Hope with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Alexa Barajas (2), June Merchant (2), and Brierley Raposa.

Meanwhile, Cranston West kept a clean sheet against Pilgrim on Tuesday. They blew past the Patriots 6-0. The victory continues a trend for Cranston West in their matchups with Pilgrim: they've now won three in a row.

North Kingstown's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Cranston West, they now have a winning record of 8-7-2.

North Kingstown beat Cranston West 3-1 in their previous matchup back in September. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skippers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
