Basketball Recap: Mira Monte Takes a Loss

Mira Monte was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 54-47 to the Foothill Trojans. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February.

Giovani Cruz continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Foothill, shooting 5-for-9 from downtown and almost dropping a double-double on 26 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Cruz a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Fernando Sarabia, who posted five points and ten rebounds.

Mira Monte's loss dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Foothill, they moved to 2-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Mira Monte didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 88-54 defeat against McFarland on the 13th. As for Foothill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-35 loss against Ridgeview on the 13th.
