Basketball Recap: Bledsoe County Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Betsy Farmer and Ava Reel

Bledsoe County lost against Marion County back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Bledsoe County fell 38-27 to Marion County.

Ava Reel and Betsy Farmer certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Reel dropped a double-double with 13 points and ten boards, while Farmer posted four points. The dominant performance also gave Farmer a new career-high in blocks (two).

Even though they lost, Bledsoe County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in eight consecutive matchups.

Marion County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tori Rymer led the charge by putting up 13 points. Reese Saylors was another key player, scoring eight points.

Bledsoe County's record now sits at 5-16. As for Marion County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a massive bump to their 13-11 record this season.

As of now, neither Bledsoe County nor Marion County have any future games scheduled.
