Basketball Game Preview: Casady Cyclones vs. Jones Longhorns

Casady is 4-0 against Jones since December of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Casady Cyclones will welcome the Jones Longhorns at 7:30 p.m. Casady is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Casady was beaten by Millwood 53-24. The game marked the Cyclones' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

James Elder was Casady's leading scorer, having posted nine points. Davis Currie held things down on the boards with nine rebounds. Cade Vesta took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Meanwhile, everything went Jones' way against Tecumseh on Tuesday as Jones made off with a 58-34 win. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 65th, while the Savages are ranked 257th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jones has also been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.8 points per game. As for Casady, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.

Everything went Casady's way against Jones in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as Casady made off with a 77-56 victory. Does Casady have another victory up their sleeve, or will Jones turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
