Baseball Recap: Dixie Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dixie won against Pine View last Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Flyers were the clear victors by a 6-0 margin over the Panthers. The result was nothing new for the Flyers, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Weston Gilmore was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Carter Turley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Gilmore wasn't the only one making solid contact: Dixie kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Flyers are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win (which was Dixie's third in a row) raised their record to 12-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Pine View, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dixie will welcome Hurricane at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Flyers are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Pine View, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Crimson Cliffs at 7:30 p.m. The last six games the Mustangs have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
