3A Conference 10 recap October 1, 2013
Northern Guilford extended the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 10 this week by beating Western Alamance, 30-7. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Morehead moved up to 186 from 214 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Panthers were able to move up by besting Rockingham County 35-21.
Javion Terry provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Morehead beat the Cougars. Terry's favorite target this week was Tyler Dabbs, who caught 2 passes for 17 yards.
Kalin Mcneil was the best receiver in the league this week as Northeast Guilford lost to Reidsville.
5-foot-9 quarterback Trevion McCollum of the Warriors is the league leader in passing yards this season with 751. He has also thrown 8 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malik Wilson. The Eastern Alamance star has 16 catches for 405 yards.
A big matchup in 3A Conference 10 this week will be when Northern Guilford takes on Eastern Alamance. At the moment, Robert Brian Thomas' team is in first, while the Eagles are in fourth.
Williams lost to Eastern Alamance 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Nick Jacobs was a bright spot for the Bulldogs, as he ran for 97 yards in the defeat.
