Football Game Preview: Mullen Broncos vs. Hyannis Longhorns

Mullen has gone a perfect 6-0 against Hyannis recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Broncos will be playing at home against the Longhorns at 6:30 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Hyannis will be up against a hot Mullen squad: the team just extended their winning streak to four. The Broncos simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Brady 71-32. The Broncos' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Alex Werner was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 135 yards and one TD on only 14 carries.

Meanwhile, Hyannis played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Maxwell 70-36. The Longhorns were down 56-24 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Mullen will need to focus on slowing down Dom Boppree, one of several Hyannis players who made an impact when they last played. He rushed for 133 yards and a pair of scores on only 13 carries, and also threw for 108 yards and one touchdown. Boppree's longest rush was for an impressive 61 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Another player making a difference was Ely Van Renan, who picked up 96 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Mullen's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Hyannis, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Mullen didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hyannis in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, but they still walked away with a 22-16 victory. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Longhorns have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
