Baseball Game Preview: Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos vs. Unity Christian Lions

The Cerro Gordo/Bement Broncos will head out to face off against the Unity Christian Lions at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Cerro Gordo/Bement has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 22.

Cerro Gordo/Bement came up short against Sullivan on Thursday, falling 12-6.

K Somers was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Mike Freese, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Unity Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 19-12 to Argenta-Oreana.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Unity Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7.

Cerro Gordo/Bement came out on top in a nail-biter against Unity Christian in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 10-8. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Broncos since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
