Basketball Recap: Western Christian Takes a Loss

Western Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 62-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Serra Cavaliers.

Despite the loss, Western Christian still got an impressive performance from Bryce Benavidez, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and ten boards. Cole Burdett was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.

Western Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Serra, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Coming up, Western Christian will head out on the road to face off against Valley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Serra, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-52 loss against Granada Hills Charter on the 24th.
