Softball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Concordia Academy on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Beacons by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Teddies in their meetings with the Beacons: they've now lost four in a row.

Eloisa Lysne was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Erickson, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Concordia Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-4.

Roosevelt is on the road again on Saturday to play Aitkin at 11:30 a.m. The Gobblers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Teddies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Concordia Academy, they will face off against Totino-Grace at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
