Basketball Recap: Lake Region Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Lake Region had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 62-55 victory over the Tenoroc Titans on Monday. That's more bragging rights for the Thunder, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lake Region's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaden McCoy led the charge by going 5 for 6 en route to 16 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Lynkon Ricks, who went 7 of 16 on his way to 17 points and five assists.

Lake Region was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Tenoroc still got an impressive performance from Amir Rathore, who posted 18 points. Rathore has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Graham, who put up 11 points.

Lake Region's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-16. As for Tenoroc, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-7.

Lake Region didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 66-41 victory against Fort Meade on the 23rd. Tenoroc has also already played their next contest, a 56-32 defeat against George Jenkins on the 23rd.
