Baseball Game Preview: Ponder Lions vs. Pilot Point Bearcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought as Ponder Lions duke it out with Pilot Point Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Ponder nor Pilot Point posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Ponder is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They lost 11-1 to Paradise. That's two games in a row now that the Lions have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Pilot Point's offense. They came up short against Whitesboro on Friday, falling 13-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Pilot Point has suffered since February 28th.

This is the second loss in a row for Pilot Point and nudges their season record down to 5-7. As for Ponder, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Ponder took their victory against Pilot Point when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ponder since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
