Volleyball Recap: Delano Comes Up Short on the Road Against Wonderful College Prep Academy

Delano had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Wonderful College Prep Academy Wolves on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Delano took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-16, 25-17.

Despite the defeat, Delano had strong showings from Saidi Garcia, who had five digs and two aces, and Melissa Cabrera, who had 11 digs. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted two or more aces the last three times she's played.

Wonderful College Prep Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Khobie Magana, who had six digs and four aces. Rebecca Gonzalez was another key player, getting 24 digs.

Looking ahead, Delano will head out on the road to take on Mira Monte at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Wonderful College Prep Academy, they will welcome Golden Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
