Basketball Game Preview: Jay Mustangs vs. Winn Mavericks

The Jay Mustangs will face off against the Winn Mavericks at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jay has five straight victories, Winn has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Jay beat Harlandale 57-51. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while the Indians are ranked 718th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Winn lost 56-33 to Southwest last Friday.

Jay is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points per game. As for Winn, their loss dropped their record down to 4-19.
