Basketball Game Preview: Humboldt Vikings vs. Middleton Tigers

The Humboldt Vikings will face off against the Middleton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Humboldt knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matchups -- so hopefully Middleton likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, Humboldt was fully in charge, breezing past West Carroll 85-24. The Vikings have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Middleton strolled past Bradford with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 56-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Humboldt pushed their record up to 21-5 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.1 points over those games. As for Middleton, their win bumped their record up to 12-8.

Everything came up roses for Humboldt against Middleton in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 63-36 victory. Does Humboldt have another victory up their sleeve, or will Middleton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
