Baseball Game Preview: Hart Hawks vs. St. Francis Golden Knights

The Hart Hawks will take on the St. Francis Golden Knights in a tournament on Wednesday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Hart is headed into their home opener looking to turn things around after starting their season on the road. They fell 7-2 to Agoura on Monday.

Hart got a good showing from Tristan Purfoy, who pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, Hart saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Hogen, who went 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Francis gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They skirted past Rio Mesa 2-1.

Noah Aguilar- Tanphanich looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched.

Hart was able to grind out a solid victory over St. Francis in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, winning 5-2. Does Hart have another victory up their sleeve, or will St. Francis turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
