Softball Recap: Brunswick's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Brunswick ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 10-9 win over the Revere Minutemen. The victory was nothing new for the Blue Devils as they're now sitting on six straight.

Brunswick let Elena Osowski and Ava Beas run wild. Osowski went 4-for-6 with three RBI, while Beas went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most RBI Osowski has posted over her last ten matchups. Abbey Nemec was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Brunswick pushed their record up to 13-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Revere, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-6.

Brunswick and Revere should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Blue Devils will challenge Medina at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (100 vs. 254). Meanwhile, Revere (ranked 80th) will meet Normandy (ranked 593rd) at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
