Basketball Recap: Pine Ridge Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Pine Ridge extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Marvin Richard Lll. The Pine Ridge Thorpes simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Sioux Valley Cossacks 63-34 thanks in part to Richard Lll, who went 17 for 38 on his way to 40 points in addition to six boards and six steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Pine Ridge's points.

Another player making a difference was Anthony Steele, who posted 15 points along with seven assists and three steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 11 games he's played.

Pine Ridge's record is now 8-6. As for Sioux Valley, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-5.

Pine Ridge will host Little Wound at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Little Wound's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches. As for Sioux Valley, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 65-49 victory against Chester on the 21st.
