Football Game Preview: Shawnee Wolves vs. McAlester Buffaloes

Shawnee is 1-6 against McAlester since October of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wolves will head out to take on the Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m.

Shawnee made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Bishop Kelley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wolves fell just short of the Comets by a score of 30-27 on Friday.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but McAlester ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They slipped by Durant 22-21. The victory continues a trend for the Buffaloes in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won eight in a row.

Shawnee better keep an eye on Brandon Smith. He was instrumental in McAlester's win, picking up 34 receiving yards and one TD, while also punching in one touchdown on the ground.

McAlester now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Shawnee, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Shawnee couldn't quite get it done against McAlester in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 as they fell 20-7. Can the Wolves avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
