Van Buren hit Thayer with a ten-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bobcats lost 14-4 to the Bulldogs. The loss continues a trend for the Bobcats in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost five in a row.

Colton Mills made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Thayer: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 6-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Easton Pitts, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Thayer's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Van Buren, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
