Football Recap: Wellsboro Comes Up Short

Wellsboro lost against Troy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hornets were beaten by the Trojans 53-7. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-0.

This is the second loss in a row for Wellsboro and nudges their season record down to 3-4. As for Troy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wellsboro will challenge Canton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hornets will be up against the Warriors' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.29 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Troy, they will square off against North Penn-Mansfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
