The Master's Academy is 0-10 against Geneva since May of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles will face off against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
The Master's Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Orangewood Christian a 15-0 shutout. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
The Master's Academy let Emma Ball and Morgan Burkhead run wild. Ball went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Burkhead went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs Burkhead has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Martin, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
The Master's Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Geneva got the win against Trinity Christian Academy on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-3.
Dallas Esperas made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She tossed five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
In other batting news, Avery Bray was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Addison Bono was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI.
The Master's Academy's record now sits at 14-5. As for Geneva, their record is now 11-4.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. The Master's Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Geneva struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
The Master's Academy suffered a grim 16-2 defeat to Geneva in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
