Basketball Recap: August Filter's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Weldon Valley over Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian

After flying high against Banner County last Saturday, Weldon Valley came back down to earth. The Weldon Valley Warriors took a hard 68-52 fall against the Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian Wildcats on Tuesday.

Weldon Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was August Filter, who posted 23 points. That was a full 44.2% of Weldon Valley's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Zander Braun was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Weldon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Weldon Valley will welcome Fleming at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Weldon Valley is facing Fleming at the right time seeing as Fleming is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Loveland Protestant Reformed Christian has already played their next matchup (against Ascent Classical Academy Northern Colorado), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
