Softball Game Preview: Luray Bulldogs vs. Rappahannock County

Luray is on an 11-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Rappahannock County a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Luray Bulldogs will be playing at home against Rappahannock County at 6:00 p.m. Luray has given up an average of 14.8 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Luray is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They fell just short of Stonewall Jackson by a score of 16-15 on Tuesday.

Gracie Stillwill and Caydence Cave did some serious damage despite the final result: Stillwill scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Cave went 1-for-5 with four RBI and two runs. Stillwill also put up a hit, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ainsley Couper, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Meanwhile, Rappahannock County lost 12-1 to Strasburg on Tuesday.

Rappahannock County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Luray, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 0-5.

Luray took their win against Rappahannock County when the teams last played back in March of 2016 by a conclusive 17-3 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do Rappahannock County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
