Soccer Game Preview: Monacan vs. Midlothian

The Monacan Chiefs will take on the Midlothian Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Monacan is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals last Tuesday, they were much more limited against Cosby on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Titans. The defeat continues a trend for Monacan in their meetings with Cosby: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, the game between Midlothian and Clover Hill was close at halftime, but Midlothian turned on the heat in the second half with four goals. Midlothian blew past Clover Hill 6-1 on Tuesday. Midlothian haven't had any issues with Clover Hill recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Midlothian pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matchups. As for Monacan, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
