Preview: Ridgecroft Rams vs. Albemarle School Colts
Ridgecroft and Albemarle School are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The Ridgecroft Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Albemarle School Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ridgecroft focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday.
Ridgecroft pushed their score all the way to 66, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 74-66 to Lawrence Academy.
Ridgecroft's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Antron Gray, who scored 23 points along with five assists, and Sawyer Chamblee who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bill Vaughan, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Albemarle School, who are still winless after their 19th game. They were dealt a 83-31 loss at the hands of Pungo Christian Academy on Monday. Albemarle School has not had much luck with Pungo Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Ridgecroft's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Albemarle School, their loss was their 13th straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 0-19.
Everything came up roses for Ridgecroft against Albemarle School when the teams last played back in January of 2023 as the team secured a 89-31 win. With Ridgecroft ahead 52-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
