Volleyball Recap: Lakes Lancers vs. Capital Cougars
Lakes won the last time they faced Capital, and things went their way on Saturday too. The Lakes Lancers had just enough and edged the Capital Cougars out 3-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lancers.
It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Lakes got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 21-25, 25-17, 17-25, 15-8.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Anna Vu, who had nine digs and three aces.
Lakes' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-12. As for Capital, they now have a losing record at 13-14-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Lakes and Enumclaw will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Capital, they are on the road again on Friday to play Kelso at 3:30 p.m. Kelso will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Capital surely won't give up without a fight.
