Baseball Recap: Central Catholic Vikings vs. Pine-Richland Rams

Central Catholic had lost five straight at home, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 4-11 to make it six. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pine-Richland Rams. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 4-1 to the Rams when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central Catholic got a good showing from Liam Pekarsky, who pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Pekarsky has allowed since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, Yaniel Heredia was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Johnny Bonacci was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

As for Pine-Richland, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.
