Softball Game Preview: Warner Wildcats vs. Calipatria Hornets

The Warner Wildcats will face off against the Calipatria Hornets at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Warner is coming into the contest hot, having won their last ten games.

Warner barely beat Julian the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 12-5 margin over the Eagles on Wednesday. Considering the Wildcats have won ten matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Calipatria never got on the board in their matchup on Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Julian on Friday. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 17-3 victory.

Warner pushed their record up to 11-3 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.4 runs over those games. As for Calipatria, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Everything went Warner's way against Calipatria in their previous matchup back in March, as Warner made off with a 15-6 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hornets turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
