Soccer Game Preview: Mayfair vs. Artesia

Mayfair is 1-8 against Artesia since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Mayfair Monsoons will take on the Artesia Pioneers in a holiday battle at at 11:00 a.m.

Mayfair is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Valley Christian on Thursday. Mayfair and Valley Christian finished up their contest with a 0-0 draw.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Artesia). They were the clear victor by a 6-1 margin over West Covina on Wednesday. The Pioneers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by three goals or more this season.

The win made it two in a row for Artesia and bumps their season record up to 5-1. With that draw, Mayfair's record moves to 2-6-1.

Mayfair came up short against Artesia when the teams last played back in December of 2021, falling 4-2. Can Mayfair avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
