Volleyball Preview: Cocalico Eagles vs. Ephrata Mountaineers

Cocalico is 0-6-1 against Ephrata since September of 2015 but things could change on Monday. The Cocalico Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Ephrata Mountaineers at 7:00 p.m. Cocalico will be strutting in after a victory while Ephrata will be coming in after a defeat.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Cocalico finally turned things around against Solanco on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Golden Mules with a sharp 3-0 win.

While Cocalico won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 26-24, 25-21.

Meanwhile, Ephrata was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Manheim Township, falling 3-0.

Ephrata was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Manheim Township work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 25-18, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Ephrata had strong showings from Chloe Saylor, who had 21 digs, and Kierra Walters, who had eight digs. Saylor is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in the last four games she's played.

Cocalico's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Ephrata, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14-4.
