Basketball Game Preview: Wise Pumas vs. Atholton Raiders

Two dominant guards in Dion Walker and Cameron Lyons are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Wise Pumas will be taking part in a tournament against the Atholton Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Wise sitting on four straight victories and Atholton on three.

Last Saturday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Wise beat Severn School 64-58.

Wise's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Walker, who went 9 for 13 on his way to 25 points and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Cayden Hargrove, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 15 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Atholton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Eleanor Roosevelt on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory.

Wise's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Atholton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Wise strolled past Atholton in their previous matchup back in February by a score of 67-51. Does Wise have another victory up their sleeve, or will Atholton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
