Basketball Game Preview: Elgin Maroons vs. Larkin Royals

Elgin is 0-10 against Larkin since January of 2022 but things could change on Friday. The Elgin Maroons will face off against the Larkin Royals at 5:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Elgin is headed into Friday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. They lost 58-38 to Bartlett.

Meanwhile, Larkin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Glenbard North and fell 63-25. The match marked the Royals' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Larkin's loss dropped their record down to 11-16. As for Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-22.

Elgin took a serious blow against Larkin in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, falling 67-32. Can Elgin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
